Vijay Jayapal is an Indian film director. His directorial debut Revelations (2016) a Tamil language Drama premiered at the 21st Busan International Film Festival. Jayapal’s second feature film Nirvana Inn (2019) was chosen to attend the 24th Busan International Film Festival after receiving the Asian Cinema Fund for post production. The film was also a part of the Asian Project Market in Busan.
We have selected “Nirvana Inn” as one of the films competing in the audience award section of the upcoming IndoGerman Filmweek between 24th and 30th of September 2020.Nirvana Inn is a 2019 Indian Hindi-language psychological horror film starring Adil Hussain, Rajshri Deshpande and Sandhya Mridul. It follows the story of a boatman who becomes the caretaker of a Himalayan resort after an attempted suicide.
We will talk about Vijay’s promising journey of a young filmmaker and about his work on “Nirvana Inn”. One focus is also on his journey as a tamil director directing a Hindi film with partly Assamese dialect.
